Educational Profile

Though Albania has witnessed many wars and invasions and still struggling to strengthen its’ economy, but, when education comes to terms, Albania is leading ahead. 93% percent children below age 9 years are going to school. The elementary education (grade 1 to 8) is must, though many children continue schooling up to 12th grade. Some of these also makes to college and professional / or technical education.

The education that Albania offers is-
  1. Pre School Education (1 to 4 Years)
  2. Primary Education (9 Years)
  3. Secondary Education
    1. Regular (3 Years)
    2. Vocational / Technical (2 to 5 Years)
  4. Tertiary Education
    1. Undergraduate (4 to 5 Years)
    2. Graduate (1 to 3 Years)
  5. Quaternary Education (3 Years)
After the rise of democratic government in 1990, many Albanian schools were reconstructed. Major city schools like schools in capital Tirana were overcrowded and hence more classroom buildings were also constructed.

Now school curricula has also been changed and major emphasis is given on subjects like sciences, humanities, computers and mathematics. Due to economic constraints schools stills do not have laboratories and well-built classroom buildings, but Albania is committed providing education for all.

Definitely, the history will be erased some day and Albania will be a hot education destination.
